W...W...W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted at Should Be Reading!

What am I reading?  (for review)
From the Dead by John Herrick

Amazon product description:
A preacher's son, a father in hiding, a guilty heart filled with secrets: When Jesse Barlow escaped to Hollywood, he hungered for fame--but eleven years of failure result in a drug-induced suicide attempt. Revived at death's doorstep, Jesse returns to his Ohio hometown to make amends with his preacher father, a former love, and Jesse's own secret son. But Jesse's renewed commitment becomes a baptism by fire when his son's advanced illness calls for a sacrifice--one that could cost Jesse the very life he regained. A story of mercy, hope, and second chances, From The Dead captures the human spirit with tragedy and joy.

What am I reading next?  (for review)
The Kindling of Greenfyr by Mark Freeman

Amazon product description:
The Kindling of GreenFyr is the story of Owen McInish, an awkward fourteen-year-old bullied at school and friendless except for his pet cat, Piper. That is until a snow leopard is chased through the woods behind his house by three huge gray dogs with glowing green eyes. Owen saves the leopard from her pursuers, but the animal escapes him as well, only to return later. The cat’s behavior is peculiar, nothing like a wild animal, making Owen even more curious as to its origin. Eventually, the cat allows Owen to pet her. Owen finds himself experiencing friendships as he has never before. Adventures as he has never imagined. And political intrigue as two worlds, long separated, begin to collide.

Lois McMaster Bujold Signing in Edina, MN!

This is Lois reading the first chapter in her upcoming - as yet, untitled, book!
I can't wait for it to be finished, published, and in my hands!
I was enthralled by the story and found myself truly disappointed when she paused
 and stacked her papers because
I realized she had read all the story she was going to read to us!
I looked at my friend and said, "Wait! Is she done reading, because I am not done listening!!!"

This is me with Lois after she signed her newest book - Cyroburn!

Lois McMaster Bujold has been writing science fiction for 25 years!  Click here to go to her homepage!
You can click here to go to my blog post about her for The Literary Road Trip!
Currently the leader in Hugo Awards - she is an author that you don't want to miss!

This is what Publishers Weekly had to say about Cryoburn at Amazon:

Fans have been clamoring for Hugo winner Bujold to pen a new Vorkosigan Saga novel since 2002's Diplomatic Immunity, and they will not be disappointed by this thoughtful tale. Only five days after arriving on Kibou-daini for a cryonics conference, interplanetary diplomat Miles Vorkosigan narrowly escapes kidnapping. Drugged, dazed, and alone, he is taken in by Jin Sato, whose mother was the leader of a cryonics reform movement until being declared mentally ill and involuntarily frozen. Now Jin lives in a building full of squatters running an illegal cryonics clinic. Under imperial orders to investigate the shady dealings of the cryo cartels, Miles connects the far-flung pieces and exposes a sneaky plot. Bujold introduces appealing characters to join familiar ones in exploring the ramifications of a planet-wide culture of postponing death, and her deft and absorbing writing easily corrals the complex plot and softens the blow of a tear-jerking conclusion.

It's Friday - I am not hopping:(

This is how I am feeling about the snow that is falling here in MN! I guess I should be grateful that it has held off until now - but ..... I so dislike the first snowfall of the winter!  Everyone forgets they have ever seen it before - the students are sooooooo excited and the adults are such bad drivers!  At any rate - I hope it doesn't decide to stick around for the weekend - but we shall see.

As I said - I am not hopping:(
I am so far behind in my google reader that I can't even begin to imagine the kind of time I would have to spend on my computer to both catch up in my reader - post anything other than this quick lunch time post - attempt to read the end of the book (The Ways of Khrem) that I am almost done with (it is fantastic - just in case you are wondering) and hop too.
On that note - I will be attempting to catch up on my reader and finish my current read.  If I have a chance later in the weekend - I will go out and hop!  Hope to see many of you before that while I am catching up on what has been going on in the blog world!!!

Happy Reading - Beverly
